2006 AdvaMed Progress You Can See Campaign

Tony & Sue:

As you know, AdvaMed launched it's Progress You Can See campaign last Thursday on Capitol Hill.  I was the lead on this project for the company and I want to let you know what an OUTSTANDING job Michelle did.   I would have to say that she is the most sincere, and passionate patient and patient advocate I have ever met in my tenure in this field.  I want to thank you, Sue for sending her my way for this campaign.

We had other patients...some that didn't quite have the finesse to pull it off completely, and some that felt it was taking too much of their personal time.  But Michelle was in meetings from 7:00 am until after 10:00 that evening.  From Senator Obama's morning constituency meeting through her meetings on Capitol Hill, she was tireless in describing her implant, showing people where it went, how it worked and how it changed her life.

Miss America 1995, Heather Whitestone McCallum ended up beside Michelle at Michelle's station for the event that evening.  Not because she had to, but because she wanted to.  Talk about a powerhouse marketing blitz for cochlear implants (which I have some fabulous pictures of by the way)!  As it turns out, Heather is getting her second implant a week after Michelle is getting hers.  Their table had the most people around it - Michelle has such a way of drawing people in and keeping their attention and driving home the value of not just cochlear implants, but medical technology.

I just want to say how fortunate we are to have someone like Michelle on our side.  She is truly a gem and I look forward to working with her again in the future.  I would have to say she is one of the best people I have met during my work here at Boston Scientific.  Truly an inspiration to us all.  She makes me proud to be part of the medical device industry.
